MS is a scary diagnoses, 1.Because you may be ignorant to what it really is and 2. You may not be aware of how much both you and your life is going to completley change and this equals Fear and Chaos. One's mobility is deeply affected, one's cognition is deeply affected, even our simple independence in going to the washroom is impacted.
For those of us who have never experienced depression, we certainly become it's close friend and for some it lasts for a very long time as we have lost our identity. This is not an easy journey and somehow we have to process this and create a new identity, a different life. We have to get used to ignorant people which may of been us in our old lives, staring at us whether we are with our walker, in our wheelchair, ( if fortunate) or in a scooter (again blessed). One thing that I tell people is, "It's not your business what other people think." The more you say this, the more you believe it.
Reinventing yourself can be a beautiful thing, you may even find your calling on the way. A lot of your redo begins with you and your perception of self. The pity party gets old and draining, there is so much hardship globally right now, that positivity is a beautiful breath of fresh air. Once you take on the belief of change and connect on some level with something bigger then you,you will have restorative Hope,without hope we have nothing. Yes we have dignity for dying but it's too soon my darling, there is too much about you and your power to discover. Yes you may have that hidden bottle of pills but there is no need as the longer you hold on to them it resignates doubt, the causation for this may likely be the one and only Fear. Fear can be challenged and removed but it begins with you. Yes we have been dealt a shitty hand, or have we? This may be an excellent opportunity to BEGIN.
